Rules

1. 1Every city has two crowns, a Queen and a King. One person holds each.
2. 2An empty crown is free while the first 100 on the map are unclaimed. After that it has a price, and the price rises as the map fills:

   When	An empty crown costs
   First 100 crowns	Free
   Up to 999	$1
   Up to 4,999	$5
   Past 4,999	$10

3. 3A crown somebody holds is taken by paying more than they did. The step falls as the price climbs, so a crown never prices itself out of the game:

   While it costs	Taking it adds
   $100 or less	10%
   Under $200	5%
   Under $500	3%
   $500 and above	1%

   Never less than $1 more than the current price, and always rounded up to the whole dollar.
4. 4A crown is held until somebody pays more. There is no time limit and no renewal.
5. 5Payments are not refunded. If someone pays more, you lose the crown.
6. 6What is published is a display name, a photo, one verified link, the amount paid and the date.
