2 A crown nobody has taken is yours for nothing while the first hundred on the map are still open. After that an empty crown costs a dollar.
3 A crown somebody holds can be taken from them by paying more. The step is 10% while it is under a hundred dollars and falls as the price climbs, so a crown never prices itself out of the game.
4 What you get is your name, your photo and one link, shown on that city until somebody pays more than you did. There is no time limit and nothing to renew.
