What this is

outcity.lol is a world map. Every city on it has two crowns, one Queen, one King. Holding a crown means your chosen name is displayed over that city on the map and on that city’s page, for as long as nobody pays more than you did.

That is the entire product. It is a listing on a map: a digital novelty, delivered the moment your payment clears.

What you are not buying

You are not buying land, property, an address, a title, an office, a franchise, an investment, a security, or any right recognised by any government or municipality. Nothing on this site confers any authority over, or relationship with, any real city or its residents.

The names of cities and countries are used to identify places on a map. No city, country, or public body endorses, operates, or is affiliated with outcity.lol.

Who sells it to you

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for every order. That means Dodo is the seller on your receipt, issues the invoice, and handles order-related enquiries and returns alongside us.

outcity.lol is operated independently and can be reached at hello@outcity.lol.

The price, and how it moves

An unclaimed crown is free while the first hundred on the map are still open. After that it costs $1, then $5 once a thousand crowns have been claimed, then $10 past five thousand. A crown somebody already holds is taken by paying more than they did: ten percent more while it costs $100 or less, five percent under $200, three percent under $500, and one percent above that, never less than a dollar more and always rounded up to the whole dollar. The full ladder is published in the Rules. Prices are in US dollars. If your card is charged in another currency, the conversion is your payment provider’s and does not change what the crown costs.

The binding price is always the one this server calculates at the moment your checkout opens, never a figure carried from a link or a stale page.

A crown can change hands between the moment your checkout opens and the moment your payment settles. If that happens, your payment is not applied to the crown at its new price. It is refunded in full, automatically. See the refund policy.

How long you hold it

Until somebody pays more. That could be months, or it could be four minutes. There is no minimum period and none is implied by the price. This is the mechanic the product is built on, not a shortcoming of it.

Payments are not refunded because a crown was taken from you quickly. Being outbid is the thing you paid to be exposed to.

The name you choose

The name you put on a crown is published. It must not impersonate a real person or organisation, advertise a product or service, contain unlawful, hateful, obscene, or harassing content, or claim any official standing.

We may remove or replace a name that breaks these rules and suspend the claim behind it without a refund. Where the breach is honest and easily fixed, we will ask you to change it first.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime, of continued availability, or of any particular outcome from holding a crown.

These terms may change. The date at the top of this page moves when they do in substance. If the service is discontinued, amounts already paid for time already displayed are not returned; we will say so publicly before shutting anything down.

Age and law

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 18, to pay for a crown.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Nothing here removes a consumer protection that the law where you live gives you and does not allow to be waived.
